Guardians Of Animals in Crisis
Guardians of Animals in Crisis is a confidential, not for profit organization run by Cathy Grant dedicated to working with victims of Domestic Violence and assisting in the temporary housing and emergency care of pets in crisis. We are working in conjunction with WAVSS (Working Against Violence Support Service) across the Redlands and Logan areas.
At Guardians of Animals in Crisis, we understand that our pets are family members too and quite often we stay in dangerous situations simply because we do not want to leave our fur babies behind. Lots of times our animals are the first to cop the brunt of the abuse, which is why it is so important to get them out to safety as well.
Guardians of Animals in Crisis will collect your fur babies whether it’s your dog, cat, horse or even your guinea pig. We will take your animal no matter what and relocate them to temporary housing to allow you to concentrate on getting yourself out of the dangerous environment and to safety. To know your animal is safe will take one burden away. We will reunite your animal with you as soon as you are safe.
As everyone knows, Cathy does an amazing job going out at night providing food, blankets, jackets, treatments and etc for animals of the homeless and underprivileged.
By doing this Cathy is making a massive difference to the welfare of so many animals out there in our local communities. As well as providing support to the owners of those animals who for so many, are in this situation through no fault of their own.
It’s a huge job and as the word is getting out it’s becoming even bigger.
For this reason, the time has come where Cathy needs help to be able to cope with the overwhelming number of animals requiring her assistance.
We are looking for a team of dedicated, passionate people that would be willing to help Cathy by going on a roster to volunteer a few hours, one night a month (more if you wish) to ensure that we can help as many of those animals in crisis as we possibly can.
We will provide you with the training you need, all food, treatments and etc will be provided for you to hand out.
You will need to have a good basic knowledge of the needs of dogs and cats. Have a reliable car to be able to get to and from the locations. Be able to have a chat with people from all walks of life, have a great sense of humor and most of all be non-judgmental.
