She is open-minded, progressive and is always focused on any dog in her care having the best experience possible. Her aim is to educate and give dog owners the skills to handle any situation capably.
Cathy is always happy to answer any questions or discuss our dog training methods with any current, or potential clients.
Andrea Ahrendt – K9 Handler @ Above & Beyond Dog Training & Rehabilitation
Andrea has always been around animals. In the country, the city, or no matter where she was, a natural understanding for them came from within her. She has not ignored this clear sign that helping animals is her calling and has a lifetime of experience working, caring for and rehabilitating dogs, cats, donkeys, geese, chickens, and likely a few more. After deciding that her main interest was with canines, she decided to help them with the work few people want – fostering, rehabilitation therapy, behavior issues, and grooming and has spent the last 10yrs working tirelessly in partnership with Cathy Grant
to go Above & Beyond what was being offered in the way of animal care, training, and community welfare. As a full time 7 day a week K9 handler at Above & Beyond Dog Training & Rehabilitation Tarampa, and also doing her state of the art food preparation diets for the lucky doggy guests at the kennels.
You would think Andrea is exhausted, but she too finds the want to help the needy and disadvantaged by joining Cathy’s side to distribute free welfare packs for homeless people with pets through the NFPC Guardians Of Animals In Crisis. Anytime left after that will find Andrea riding a horse, taking usually fantastic photos of the dogs they are working with, and enjoying her home.

Guardians of Animals in Crisis is a confidential, not for profit organization run by Cathy Grant dedicated to working with victims of Domestic Violence and assisting in the temporary housing and emergency care of pets in crisis. We are working in conjunction with WAVSS (Working Against Violence Support Service) across the Redlands and Logan areas.
We will take your animal no matter dog, cat, horse etc and relocate them to temporary housing to allow you to concentrate on getting yourself out of the dangerous environment and to safety. To know your animal is safe will take one burden away. We will reunite your animal with you as soon as you are safe.
